Ways You Can Support

There are many ways you can support the DISPLACED Project: from making a financial contribution to encouraging funders to support this important work to inviting the Project to a residency or fellowship opportunity or to speak to your organization or class. You can also support this work by sharing information about DISPLACED with friends and colleagues or through collaboration or partnerships.

DISPLACED is currently seeking resources to support the development of an Atlas of Displacement, the creation of a custom-built interactive website, and partnerships, funding, space, and residency opportunities for a full-scale exhibition—all three of which are scheduled to premiere in the Spring of 2025.

As part of Shana's work in reimagining space-making practices rooted in black feminist geographic thought, the DISPLACED Project seeks support to develop a multi-use art space to promote communal infrastructure building and civic engagement pairing contemporary art with critical research and social activism as a site of intervention and creative possibilities. This multi-use space is envisioned to house a gallery, research lab, art and activist studios, meeting room, feminist lending library, and storefront supporting interdisciplinary practices.

For more information on how you can support DISPLACED, contact Shana M. griffin here.

DISPLACED is fiscally sponsored by Jane Place Neighborhood Sustainability Initiative (JPNSI), a New Orleans-based Community Land Trust (CLT) and housing rights organization—and a federally recognized 501(c)3 no-profit.

Tax-deductible donations to the DISPLACED Project can be processed electronically here, noting the contribution is for DISPLACED or by check, written out to Jane Place Neighborhood Sustainability Initiative, with DISPLACED listed in the memo line. Mail checks to:
